Dr. Tapan Ghose is a distinguished cardiologist with a stellar academic and professional background. Graduating with honors in biochemistry from Silchar Medical College, he was awarded the prestigious Dr. Anjan Chakravorty Memorial Medal for securing the highest marks in Medicine in 1988. He went on to complete his MD in Internal Medicine from Assam Medical College, Dibrugarh, in 1993, and was also awarded DNB (Medicine) by the National Board of Examinations in the same year. In 2001, he earned the DNB in Cardiology following his successful training at Batra Hospital Medical Research Centre, New Delhi, and later received a Fellowship in Interventional Cardiology from the National Board in 2004.

Dr. Ghose has held several key positions, including Principal Consultant in Interventional Cardiology at Fortis Escorts Heart Institute and Fortis Flt. Lt. Rajan Dhall Hospital in New Delhi, as well as Director and Head of Cardiology at Paras Hospital, Gurgaon. He currently serves as Director and Head of Cardiology, as well as Head of Clinical Research at Fortis Hospital, Vasant Kunj (FHVK). His expertise spans coronary interventions, cardiac electrophysiology, and device implantation. Dr. Ghose initiated the Transradial Angioplasty Programme at FHVK in 2006 and later introduced the Transradial Primary PCI Programme at FHVK in 2011 and Paras Hospital in 2013.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Ghose is actively involved in medical research and postgraduate teaching. He has participated in numerous national and international trials and registries and has contributed over 100 publications, including abstracts, reviews, and full papers, along with 12 textbook chapters. He is the author of the Handbook of Lipidology and was recognized as the “Cardiologist of the Year 2014” at the Indian Healthcare Summit and Awards.

Dr. Ghose is a life member of the Cardiological Society of India, a Fellow of the International Medical Sciences Academy, and a member of the National Academy of Medical Sciences. He is also a Fellow of the Cardiological Society of India, the American College of Cardiology, and the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions, USA. His extensive contributions to cardiology, both in clinical practice and research, have made him a highly respected figure in his field.
